Bering Financial was founded by Patrick Smith. Patrick began his career in 1972 with Investors Diversified Services, where he was trained and educated in true, balanced financial planning. From there, he served as financial planner to 6,000 clients in Tarrant County with E.F. Hutton.
Patrick established Bering Financial in 1986 and he continues to serve as an independent advisor to clients across Texas and the surrounding states. Patrick has shared financial education as a featured guest on Believers in Business, heard on 100.7 fm, KWRD. In recent years, Patrick has conducted retirement courses for the 21st century at North Lake College. Patrick Smith is a Registered Representative holding Series 7 & 66 licenses, as well as licenses for Life & Health Insurance and Annuity instruments. On a personal note, Patrick enjoys time with his family, golf, fishing, and the outdoors. He has seven children, six grandchildren (with two more on the way!) and has been married to his wife Carol for almost 50 years.

Ashley joined the Bering family in 2012 as Operations Manager, overseeing all operational and administrative aspects of the business. Ashley's gift of hospitality allows her to create a warm, welcoming environment for every client and guest that Bering hosts. She currently serves as Event Coordinator.
Ashley is a native Texan born and raised in the Panhandle. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. A self-professed foodie, she loves cooking healthy, flavorful meals and trying out new restaurants. She also shares her love of fitness by leading group exercise as a Pilates instructor and is a Yellow Belt in Krav Maga.
